Police Inspector Killed During Petrol Station Robbery

On Thursday, a police inspector named Jido Ahm was killed during a robbery attempt at a petrol station located behind the BCG area in Kontagora, Niger State. Reports indicate that Inspector Ahm was allegedly leading a two-member robbery gang when the incident occurred.

Eyewitness accounts reveal that a gang member shot a petrol attendant in the chest, resulting in the attendant's death. During the raid, Inspector Ahm was shot in the leg, while the co-robber reportedly escaped with the loot.

Following the incident, the police anti-crime patrol team was alerted and arrived swiftly at the scene. Inspector Ahm sustained fatal injuries from the gunshot and was taken to a police clinic in Minna.

Superintendent Wasiu Abiodun, the public relations officer of the Niger State Police Command, confirmed the details of the incident when contacted.
