Nigeria Reaffirms Commitment to African Air Transport Market

Nigeria's Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, reaffirmed the country's commitment to the Single African Air Transport Market during the African Air Transport Convention Expo 2026 held in Lomé, Togo. Keyamo emphasized that enhancing air connectivity is crucial for unlocking Africa's economic potential.

He stated that Nigeria will continue to collaborate with other African nations and regional aviation institutes to promote policy partnerships that strengthen air transport, improve infrastructure, and encourage investment. The event featured the participation of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, highlighting ongoing support for regional integration in the aviation sector.

Other notable attendees included Adefunk Adeyemi, Secretary General of the African Civil Aviation Commission, and Captain Juan Boyo Olubodun. The convention aims to accelerate the transformation of Africa's aviation ecosystem to enhance global competitiveness and integrate networks across the continent.
