Nigeria Customs Returns Stolen Luxury Vehicles to Canada

On May 4, 2026, the Nigeria Customs Service conducted a handover ceremony at Tin Island Port, Lagos, where several stolen luxury vehicles were returned to Canadian authorities. The event was attended by Deputy High Commissioner of Canada to Nigeria, Mr.

Nasser Salih, and Nigeria Customs Service Comptroller Frank Onyeka. The vehicles, which included a 2019 Lexus RX350, a 2019 Mercedes Benz G550, a 2023 Land Rover Range Rover, a 2019 Lamborghini Huracan, a 2021 Rolls Royce Dawn, a 2018 Lamborghini Aventador, and a 2026 Toyota Tundra, were identified as stolen and believed to have been illegally shipped to Nigeria.

The interception followed a month of intelligence sharing and collaboration between the Nigeria Customs Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Onyeka explained that the operation was initiated upon receiving alerts from Canadian authorities regarding suspicious shipping documents.

The vehicles were held in custody pending verification by Canadian officials, ensuring the integrity of the recovery process.
