Tinubu Urges Governors to Unite for Nigeria's Recovery

During an Iftar gathering held at the State House banquet hall in Abuja, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu addressed 20 governors and two deputy governors, acknowledging the challenges Nigeria faces but expressing optimism about the country's recovery from recent economic and security issues. He urged the governors to remain steadfast and work collaboratively to bridge gaps and rescue the nation, stating that the best is yet to come.

Tinubu reiterated his administration's commitment to decentralizing police as a long-term solution to unemployment and insecurity. He called for unity among citizens, emphasizing the importance of discipline and sacrifice during the holy month of Ramadan.

Hope Uzodinma, the Governor of Imo State, spoke on behalf of the Nigeria Governors Forum, highlighting the significance of the gathering as a rare convergence of Ramadan and Lent. Other notable attendees included Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.
