Tinubu Urges Governors to Collaborate for Nigeria's Growth

During an Iftar gathering at the State House banquet hall in Abuja, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu addressed 20 governors and two deputy governors, acknowledging Nigeria's progress in overcoming recent economic and security challenges. He admitted that the recovery road is not easy and urged governors to remain steadfast in their efforts.

Tinubu reiterated his administration's commitment to establishing state police as a long-term solution to insecurity and unemployment. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between federal and state governments and called for a focus on grassroots development, particularly for the youth.

Hope Uzodinma, the Governor of Imo State, spoke on behalf of the Nigeria Governors' Forum, emphasizing the significance of the gathering during the holy month of Ramadan, which coincided with Lent for the first time in 33 years. The event was attended by notable figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.
