NIS Announces Passport Exercise in 4 UK Cities

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a passport intervention exercise for Nigerians in the United Kingdom, scheduled from September 7 to 26, 2026. This initiative, directed by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, aims to facilitate the application for new passports, renewals, and the resolution of pending applications.

The exercise will take place in four cities: London at Layali Lounge from September 7 to 19, Manchester at Nigerian House from September 7 to 19, Aberdeen at Hilton Convention Centre from September 21 to 26, and Cardiff at Sophia Gardens from September 21 to 26. Applicants must register and make payments through the NIS Passport Application portal prior to their visit, as walk-in cash payments will not be accepted.

Required documents include a completed application form, proof of payment, an appointment slip, a self-addressed return envelope, and the current passport for renewals. The NIS also confirmed that existing digital passport application channels remain operational, and home delivery of passports is available for those unable to attend in person.
