Accord Party's Olawepo-Hashim Critiques Tinubu's Security Strategy

Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, the Presidential Candidate of the Accord Party, stated that Nigeria is currently at war, facing a significant threat from terrorism without a coherent strategy from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to address it.

In a statement released on Tuesday, he condemned the recent killings in Kaduna, Zamfara, Plateau, and the abduction of citizens in Kebbi State, including a High Court judge. Olawepo-Hashim urged the federal government to urgently reform the security architecture, emphasizing the need for a proactive approach to prevent attacks rather than merely responding to them.

He noted that over 30,000 people have been killed in the first three years of Tinubu's administration, with 3.7 million people displaced and living in IDP camps. He described the ongoing violence as a national emergency that threatens national unity, food security, and investment.

Hashim called for a comprehensive national security strategy that includes intelligence superiority, precision military operations, and effective border security.
