Nigeria Makes 4th Consecutive Winter Olympics Appearance with Samuel Ikpefan Leading the Charge

Nigeria has made its 4th consecutive appearance at the Winter Olympics, with athletes like Samuel Ikpefan participating in cross-country skiing. The streak began in 2018 when Nigeria debuted at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in South Korea.

Notable athletes from previous games include Seun Adigun and Simidele Adeagbo, who competed in bobsleigh and skeleton events. The current Winter Olympics, held in Milano Cortina, Italy from February 6 to February 22, 2026, sees Samuel Ikpefan proudly representing Nigeria.

Ikpefan, originally from Edo State, Nigeria, now resides in France, where he trains to optimize his skills for the games. Despite not qualifying for the monobob event, Ikpefan remains committed to delivering his best performance and inspiring others with his dedication.

The Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC), led by President Habu Ahmed Gumel, supports Ikpefan and other athletes in their Olympic journey.
