Nigeria and Mali Strengthen Diplomatic Relations

Nigeria and Mali have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation on mutual interests. This announcement was made following the presentation of Letters of Credence by Nigeria’s Ambassador-Designate to Mali, Ambassador Geoffrey Ijomah David Chima, to Mali’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulaye Diop, in Bamako.

Dr. Magnus Eze, Special Assistant on Communication and New Media in the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that the presentation was followed by bilateral discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two nations. Both countries emphasized the importance of diplomatic consultation mechanisms to promote a productive South-South partnership.

They highlighted the need for solidarity, political dialogue, and mutual trust among African states to address regional security challenges. The discussions underscored that stronger cooperation and sustained dialogue are essential for tackling shared challenges and promoting sustainable development in West Africa.
