Nigeria and Switzerland Strengthen Diplomatic Ties

On September 8, 2026, Wahab A. Akande, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Swiss Confederation, presented his Letters of Credence to Guy Parmelin, the President of the Swiss Confederation, at the Federal Palace in Bern.

He emphasized the importance of expanding economic and development cooperation, as well as exploring new opportunities for institutional, commercial, and cultural partnerships. The Nigeria-Switzerland Bilateral Consultations were highlighted as a crucial framework for ongoing diplomatic engagement, aimed at reviewing relations and identifying mutually beneficial cooperation areas.
