Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Minister Calls for Domestic Reforms

On Thursday, during the launch of a book titled "Shadow Power" in Abuja, Sola Enikanolaiye, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, emphasized that Nigeria must resolve its domestic economic and security issues to reclaim its traditional leadership role in Africa and enhance its voice on the global stage. He argued that a strong foreign policy is built on the foundation of national stability and unity, and ongoing reforms under President Bola Tinubu aim to strengthen Nigeria's international position.

Enikanolaiye noted that Nigeria remains committed to its long-standing role in African affairs, asserting that domestic security and prosperity are prerequisites for effective foreign policy. He identified Nigeria's immediate neighborhood as a strategic priority, stressing that the security and development of neighboring countries are intrinsically linked to Nigeria's stability.

The minister reaffirmed Nigeria's openness to cooperation with a wide range of global partners while maintaining traditional alliances.
