Nigeria Police Convict 59 Foreign Nationals in Abuja Cybercrime Syndicate

The Nigeria Police have successfully convicted 59 foreign nationals involved in a large-scale internet fraud syndicate in Abuja. The operation, which began in November 2024, led to the arrest of 130 suspects, including 113 foreigners from China and Malaysia.

The syndicate engaged in various cybercrimes, posing serious risks to national security. The convictions come after a series of coordinated raids and investigations.

Inspector General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun commended the efforts and emphasized the commitment to deploying advanced technology to combat cybercrime.
