Nigeria Secures 24th Place in 2026 IBA Boxing Rankings

Nigeria has been ranked 24th in the 2026 International Boxing Association (IBA) world standings, according to a report released on Saturday. The country has accumulated a total of 150 points, placing it ahead of the United States and France, which share the 25th position with 11 points.

The top of the rankings is led by Uzbekistan with 48,700 points, followed by Russia with 40,850 points, Kazakhstan with 38,300 points, and the Democratic Republic of Congo in fourth place with 36,825 points. Australia completes the top five with 33,725 points.

Notably, Morocco is ranked sixth with 29,600 points, while China holds the ninth position with 19,100 points. The IBA ranking system is based on a two-year rolling point structure, where points are allocated based on performance in major competitions such as the Olympic Games, World Championships, Continental Championships, and World Boxing Tour events.

Nigeria's ranking reflects its performance in sanctioned elite boxing events during the ranking period, which covers various international tournaments.
