Nigeria Repatriates 51 Foreign Nationals Convicted Of Cybercrime

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in collaboration with the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has repatriated 51 foreign nationals convicted of internet fraud. The latest batch included 50 Chinese nationals and one Tunisian, bringing the total number of convicted foreigners repatriated to 102 since the exercise began on August 15, 2025.

The EFCC stated that the convicts were among 192 foreign nationals arrested in a sting operation in Lagos following actionable intelligence on a major cybercrime syndicate operating in the country. The repatriation highlights Nigeria's determination to dismantle criminal networks and protect its cyberspace from international syndicates exploiting the country.

This move underscores the government's commitment to safeguarding the country from cyber threats.
