Nigeria's Oil Output Rises to 1.68m BPD in August 2026

In August 2026, Nigeria's crude oil and condensate production rose to 1,677,777 barrels per day, reflecting a 0.4% increase from July's output of 1.67 million bpd. The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) announced this in a statement by Eniola Akinkuotu, its Head of Media and Corporate Communications.

The increase signifies Nigeria's sustained compliance with its Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) crude oil quota for the fourth consecutive month. The rise in production was attributed to the resolution of operational challenges at the Single Buoy Mooring at the Erha field, which had previously hindered production.

The NUPRC reported that crude oil production, excluding condensates, was 1,500,190 bpd in August. The lowest daily production recorded was 1.64 million bpd, while the highest was 1.71 million bpd.

The Bonny Terminal led with an average output of 320.04 thousand bpd, followed by Forcados and Qua Iboe Terminals. The August output was 57,621 bpd lower than June's production of 1,735,398 bpd.
