Nigerian Army Repels Terrorist Attack in Zamfara State

On Tuesday at 11:00 AM, the Nigerian Army conducted an operation in response to reports of terrorist activity in the Kanoma District of Zamfara State. The troops from the 1 Brigade engaged in a fierce exchange of gunfire with the assailants on Kanoma Hill.

The terrorists were overpowered due to the superior firepower of the Nigerian Army, forcing them to retreat. Following the initial engagement, the troops conducted an exploit operation ahead of Kanoma Hill, where they encountered suspects riding two motorcycles.

The suspects were immediately engaged, resulting in the neutralization of one terrorist, while others managed to escape. Items recovered from the scene included an AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 magazine loaded with four rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and two motorcycles believed to be used by the terrorists.

This operation was reported by security expert Zagazola Makama, who specializes in counter-insurgency in the Lake Chad region.
