Troops Rescue 31 Hostages, Neutralize 5 Terrorists

Olaniyi Osoba, successfully rescued 31 hostages and neutralized five terrorists during coordinated operations in Zamfara and Katsina States. The operations, which took place on Thursday, involved precise air strikes followed by ground clearance missions targeting terrorist hideouts in the Anka and Maradun forest areas of Zamfara State.

The rescued individuals had been abducted for several weeks from various communities, including Bagega, Gummi, Zuru, Wasugu, and Bukuyyum. They are currently receiving medical care and awaiting reunion with their families.

In a separate engagement in Katsina State, troops intercepted armed terrorists along the Sayaya road in Matazu Local Government Area, resulting in the death of three terrorists and the recovery of weapons and motorcycles. The Nigerian Army has committed to continuing operations to clear remaining terrorist enclaves and restore security across Zamfara and Katsina States.
