Nigerian Army Warns Maiduguri Residents After Bombings

Following deadly suicide bombings in Maiduguri, Borno State, which resulted in 23 deaths and 108 injuries, the Nigerian Army has issued a stern warning to residents. Lt.

Col. Sanni Uba, the media information officer for the North East Joint Task Force, stated that intelligence suggests the presence of additional suicide bombers in the city.

The attacks occurred around 7:05 PM during the Muslim observance of iftar, utilizing improvised explosive devices in crowded areas to maximize casualties and instill panic. The Nigerian Army described the attacks as cowardly and indicated that the perpetrators are believed to be members of Boko Haram, who may deploy multiple suicide bombers for coordinated strikes.

In response, security forces have intensified patrols and surveillance across Maiduguri to track down suspects and prevent further attacks. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has dispatched medical personnel to assist in evacuating victims to hospitals for treatment, while residents are urged to report any suspicious activities.
