Aisha Achimugu Alleges EFCC Oppression and Intimidation

Aisha Achimugu (OFR), an accountant and widow of the late Engr. Sulaiman Achimugu, has publicly addressed the press regarding a prolonged campaign of oppression and character assassination against her by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), led by its current Chairman.

She claims that for nearly two years, she has faced intimidation and the unlawful freezing of her personal bank accounts, actions that she argues violate the principles of the rule of law and natural justice as outlined in the Nigerian Constitution. Achimugu emphasizes her contributions to the Nigerian economy, including her role in promoting the Ibom Deep Sea Port project.

She states that her family's legacy of service is being dismantled through these unjust actions, which not only affect her but also threaten the lives of her children and the enabling environment for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Nigeria.
