Nigerian Government Boosts Economic Opportunities for Women

The Nigerian Government is expanding economic opportunities for women by facilitating access to traditionally male-dominated sectors, as articulated by Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development. This announcement occurred in Abuja during a meeting with a delegation from the Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope Agenda (BWI-RHA), led by Dr Ngozi Oyewole.

Sulaiman-Ibrahim emphasized the administration's commitment to the economic advancement of women under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. She highlighted the importance of enabling women to engage in economically viable sectors that can generate wealth and jobs.

The Minister also noted the administration's goal of securing 10 million votes from women for President Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections. Dr Ngozi Oyewole, represented by Ms Evelyn Onyilo, praised the Minister's efforts and expressed readiness to collaborate on initiatives that enhance women's economic wellbeing.

The meeting concluded with Sulaiman-Ibrahim being honored as Grand Patron of BWI-RHA for her contributions to women's empowerment.
