Gombe Governor Threatens Jail for Parents Who Don't Send Children to School

Governor Muhammad Inuwa of Gombe State has warned residents to send their children to school or face prosecution, including possible jail terms for parents or guardians who fail to enroll their children. The Gombe State government is enforcing the SUBEB Amendment Law 2021 to ensure every child has access to quality basic education.

The government has launched a School Enrolment Campaign to promote free education and increase enrollment rates. This initiative aligns with the Federal Government's Basic Education Transformation Agenda (BETA) to enhance educational infrastructure, teacher capacity, and student support.
