Nigeria Launches Emergency Medical Numbers for Citizens

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the release of emergency call centre numbers for medical assistance, urging citizens to dial 112 for urgent needs. The National Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System (NEMSAS) stated that 112 serves as a central contact for emergency medical help.

In addition to 112, several states have dedicated emergency numbers to facilitate quicker responses. NEMSAS provided emergency numbers for 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with most states utilizing 112 alongside their specific numbers.

For example, Abia has 112 and 08000000800, while Adamawa residents can call 112, 1755, or 07011111443. The agency emphasized that first responders are available 24/7 to provide professional care and life-saving services.

NEMSAS also indicated that Benue's emergency call centre is currently "Not Operational." Citizens are encouraged to save these numbers for immediate access during emergencies.
