Nigerian Immigration Sets Deadline for Foreign Nationals Amid Amnesty Ending

The Nigerian Immigration Service in Niger State has issued a deadline for foreign nationals to regularize their stay before the end of an ongoing amnesty period. The Controller, Maduka Hope, emphasized the importance of valid travel and identification documents to avoid repatriation.

The exercise targets not only Nigerien nationals but also ECOWAS citizens residing in the state. The process is currently non-coercive, with a focus on sensitization and voluntary compliance.

However, irregular migrants attempting to evade the process will face legal measures. The Immigration Service plans to collaborate with other security agencies to strengthen border security and migration management.
