Nigerian Leader Honored by U.S. for Trade Contributions

Onoja Attah Onoja, a Nigerian business leader, was honored with a Congressional Proclamation from the United States House of Representatives for his significant contributions to international trade, economic cooperation, and diaspora engagement. The award was presented by Congressman Hakeem Jeffries during the Guyana Independence Celebration Committee of New York’s commemoration of Guyana’s 60th Independence Anniversary.

Onoja, who has over two decades of experience in the shipping, marketing, distribution, and energy sectors, is currently the President of the African Caribbean Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry (ACCTCI). His efforts have focused on strengthening commercial ties between Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States, promoting trade, investment, and collaboration among businesses and governments.

Upon receiving the award, Onoja dedicated it to Nigerians, emphasizing their capacity to build institutions and create opportunities. He expressed hope that his recognition would inspire young professionals in Nigeria to pursue excellence and service.
