Nigerian Resident Doctors Suspend Planned Strike After Engaging with Vice President

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has halted its planned strike set for January 12 after engaging with Vice President Kashim Shettima. The strike was intended to address issues like salary arrears and promotions.

The decision came after a court injunction restrained two NARD officials from commencing the strike. NARD President Mohammad Suleiman confirmed the suspension, citing ongoing discussions with the Vice President to resolve outstanding concerns.

The move follows warnings of strikes by other healthcare professionals in Nigeria.
