Aisha Yesufu Urges NASS to Address Soldier Casualties

Activist lawyer Aisha Yesufu has raised serious concerns regarding the alarming casualty rates among Nigerian soldiers, calling for urgent action from the National Assembly (NASS). She questioned the responsibility of elected lawmakers to represent and protect the interests of citizens, particularly in light of the growing number of military personnel casualties.

Yesufu urged the NASS to summon relevant authorities to explain the situation and to introduce legislative measures aimed at ensuring better protection for the welfare of soldiers and their families. She highlighted the fate of families left behind by fallen troops and called for clarification on the support systems in place for the families of slain military personnel.

Yesufu criticized the passive nature of the legislature and warned that the absence of decisive leadership from the Commander-in-Chief could exacerbate the ongoing security challenges faced by military personnel deployed across various operations in Nigeria. She emphasized that the NASS must act to protect the interests of the people and ensure that the families of slain heroes are adequately supported.
