Nigeria's Athletes Compete at World Athletics Championships

The World Athletics Ultimate Championships commenced on Friday in Budapest, Hungary, featuring Nigeria's leading athletes in various events. Tobi Amusan, a former world champion, will compete in the women's 100m hurdles semi-finals and the mixed 4x100m final.

Nigeria's mixed 4x100m team includes Alaba Akintola, Favour Ashe, Miracle Ezechukwu, Udodi Onwuzurike, and Rosemary Nwankwo, although Ezechukwu's participation is uncertain due to visa issues. The first medal of the championship will be contested in the mixed 4x100m relay against teams from Hungary, Spain, the Netherlands, Canada, Great Britain & Northern Ireland, Germany, and the United States.

Additionally, Kanyinsola Ajayi will compete in the men's 100m semi-finals on Saturday, facing notable athletes such as Lamont Marcell Jacobs and Akani Simbine. Onwuzurike is also set to compete in the men's 200m and mixed 4x100m relay, while Ezekiel Nathaniel will participate in the men's 400m hurdles on the final day.
