Nigerian Woman Missing in Qatar After Arrival from Lagos

A 37-year-old Nigerian woman has been unreachable since arriving in Doha, Qatar, on Qatar Airways flight QR1408 from Lagos on Tuesday. Michael Achimugu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, confirmed via CCTV that she arrived safely, collected her luggage, and exited the airport.

Her brother, Jonathan Jibo, reported her disappearance after last communicating with her via WhatsApp before landing. He stated that she had no friends in Qatar and her accommodation was pre-arranged.

The person assigned to pick her up could not locate her despite being informed by the airline of her arrival. Achimugu mentioned that checks would be conducted to confirm if she reached her hotel, as every Qatar visa booking is tied to a hotel reservation.

He expressed concerns about potential human trafficking and stated that if she did not arrive at the hotel, a manhunt would ensue. Jibo has reached out to the Nigerian Embassy in Doha for assistance.
