Nigerian Wrestlers Arrive in Mongolia for Ranking Series

Four Nigerian wrestlers have arrived in Mongolia to participate in the 3rd Ranking Series, which is crucial for earning ranking points ahead of the 2026 World Wrestling Championship. The wrestlers include Mercy Miesinnei (50kg), Christianah Ogunsanya (53kg), Esther Kolawole (62kg), and Damola Ojo (76kg).

They departed Nigeria on Monday night aboard Turkish Airlines. The delegation is led by women's wrestling coach Akuh Puriti, who is also the chairman of the technical committee of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF).

Puriti expressed gratitude towards the NWF president, Bashir Adewal Adeniyi, for the unwavering support and commitment to the welfare of Nigerian wrestlers. The primary objective of the team in Mongolia is to earn ranking points that will help establish their world standings and secure top seeds for the upcoming world championship.
