Nigerians Concerned Over Rapid Internet Data Depletion Impacting Telecom Operators

Nigerians are facing confusion and frustration as internet data bundles deplete rapidly, affecting telecom operators in Nigeria. Despite being ranked among the cheapest in Africa, users are experiencing data exhaustion before expiry, leading to widespread grievances on social media.

The average cost of data bundles is N3,500, lasting only two to three weeks for many users. Telecom companies are under pressure to reduce data package values due to increased complaints from consumers.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is yet to approve any tariff increases, but technical and non-technical factors contribute to the rapid data depletion.
