Okonkwo Advocates for Productivity Consciousness in Nigeria

Mazi Martin Okonkwo, the newly appointed Coordinator of the National Productivity Centre (NPC) for Imo and Abia states, called on Nigerians to embrace a productivity consciousness to foster national development. Speaking from his office in Owerri, Okonkwo clarified that productivity differs from mere production, focusing instead on enhancing processes and improving outcomes.

He highlighted the significance of inputs, which include both tangible and intangible resources necessary for satisfying end-users. Okonkwo emphasized that productivity consciousness encompasses time management, social capital, and ethical values.

He illustrated this with the "Red Car Theory," which symbolizes the ability to recognize opportunities in everyday life. Okonkwo's office is planning capacity training programs for ministries and cooperatives to promote value addition and is seeking partnerships to enhance productivity across the country.
