Golden Eaglets Depart for China Youth Football Tournament

Nigeria's Golden Eaglets, the five-time world champions, are set to depart for China on Thursday night to compete in the International Youth Football Tournament. This tournament will take place in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, from July 5 to 11, 2026.

The event is organized by the Chinese Football Association in conjunction with the Ningxia Football Association and the Yinchuan Sport Bureau, aimed at promoting the development of football in China. The Nigerian team, consisting of 20 players, is led by current coach Uwejamomer Eboborits, with assistance from Kalli Moham and Abdullahi Isa.

Other participating teams include Australia and Tanzania. The matches are scheduled to occur at the Yinchuan Sports Center Helanshan Stadium.

This tournament serves as a preparatory forum for the Golden Eaglets as they continue to build towards the WAFU B U17 Championship and the next year's U17 Africa Cup of Nations, which is set to take place in September.
