Nigeria's Legal System Shifts from Foreign Dependency

Adedayo Adelodun, a senior advocate, addressed the need for Nigeria's legal system to reduce its dependency on foreign case law during a public presentation of his book in Ilorin, Kwara State. He stated that while the legal system has made significant progress, there remains room for improvement.

Adelodun, who is over 70 years old, expressed his commitment to serving the legal community and emphasized the importance of developing a homegrown legal framework. The event marked the 20-year anniversary of his association with the Inner Bar, where he was celebrated by Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who described Adelodun as a legendary figure in the judiciary.
