APM Predicts Makinde's Victory Over Tinubu in 2027

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has expressed confidence that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde will defeat President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 presidential election. The party attributes this potential success to Makinde's governance record, economic reforms, and increasing national appeal.

APM's National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, stated that Makinde's achievements in transforming Oyo State's economy and implementing infrastructure and governance reforms position him as a credible alternative for many Nigerians. This assertion follows remarks from Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, who dismissed Makinde as politically inconsequential.

APM interpreted the presidency's attacks on Makinde as a sign of anxiety regarding his rising political profile. Yusuf emphasized that the 2027 election will reveal who is truly inconsequential and noted that Makinde's performance could attract national support, contrasting with the presidency's approach of criticizing opponents rather than defending its achievements.
