Nigeria's Youngest Lawmaker Shines at Ghana Conference

Hon. Rukayat Shittu, recognized as Nigeria's youngest lawmaker, participated in the West Africa Female Parliamentarians Peer Review Conference held in Accra, Ghana, over three days.

The conference focused on ending violence against women and girls (VAWG) and was organized by the Women Political Forum (WIPF) with support from UN Women and the European Union. The event brought together female parliamentarians, gender ministers, and lawmakers from the ECOWAS region to review legislative responses to violence against women and girls and to strengthen regional collaboration.

During the conference, Hon. Rukayat Shittu was acknowledged alongside other participants in the parliamentary proceedings, which were observed by Barr.
