Ondo State Bans Motorcycle Operations in 18 LGAs

The Ondo State government has announced an immediate ban on commercial motorcycle operations across 18 local government areas, effective from Wednesday, starting at 6 PM. Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, head of the state security network agency known as Amotekun, disclosed this decision at the agency's headquarters in Akure.

The ban is part of a broader strategy to strengthen security, maintain public order, and protect lives and property throughout the state. All motorcycle operations are prohibited during the hours of 7 PM to 6 AM, with exceptions for security personnel and essential service providers.

Motorcycle users must register and obtain the necessary certification from the Ondo State Security Network Agency. Failure to comply will result in the operations being deemed unlawful.

Additionally, the government has prohibited the display of farm products in unauthorized areas and the operation of cart pushers in major towns to further enhance public safety and traffic management.
