NiMet Predicts Thunderstorms Across Nigeria This Week

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has released a weather outlook predicting cloudiness and thunderstorms across Nigeria from Monday to Wednesday. On Monday, the northern region is expected to experience sunny skies with patches of clouds and a chance of thunderstorms accompanied by light rain in states such as Taraba, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, Kebbi, and Kaduna during the morning and afternoon hours.

Thunderstorms with moderate rain are anticipated in Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Bauchi, Gombe, Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Adamawa, and Taraba. The North Central region, including Plateau, Niger, Benue, Nasarawa, Kwara, Kogi, and the Federal Capital Territory, will also see thunderstorms and moderate rain.

The southern region, including Ogun, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Imo, and Lagos, is expected to experience moderate rain throughout the day. NiMet advises the public to take precautions against strong winds and heavy rainfall.
