NiMet Forecasts Thunderstorms Nationwide This Week

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather outlook predicting cloudiness and thunderstorms across Nigeria from Wednesday to Friday. On Wednesday, patches of clouds are expected over the northern region, with thunderstorms and moderate rainfall forecasted for Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, Zamfara, Gombe, Bauchi, Taraba, and Adamawa states during the morning.

Thunderstorms with moderate rainfall are anticipated later in the day over parts of Kaduna and the entire North-East. The North-Central region will see patches of clouds with chances of thunderstorms and light rains in the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, and Nasarawa states.

By Thursday, similar weather patterns are expected, with thunderstorms and moderate rainfall over the northern states. On Friday, patches of clouds will persist in the northern region, with thunderstorms and rainfall expected in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, and Taraba states.

NiMet also warns of strong winds that may precede rainfall in some areas.
