A Delta Line commercial bus and industrial gas truck collided on the Ijebu-Ode/Ore Expressway on Monday, killing all nine passengers aboard.

On Monday evening, a devastating collision took nine lives along the Ijebu-Ode/Ore Expressway. The crash involved two vehicles near Bethel area in Ogun State's expressway corridor: a white Toyota Hiace commercial bus operated by Delta Line (registration 14B-299DT) and a white Sino Truck marked AAB162XD.

This incident occurred around 4:55 p.m. According to verification by the Federal Road Safety Corps, all nine occupants lost their lives on impact at the scene.

The fatalities consisted of three male and six female passengers. Afolabi Odunsi-Oyewole, spokesman of the Ogun State Sector Command for the FRSC, disclosed specifics regarding this tragedy during a statement released Monday night.

Preliminary findings from FRSC investigators determined that excessive speed combined with rainfall conditions likely triggered the collision. The agency confirmed there were no survivors.

Reports attributed ownership of the Sino Truck to Bill Gas Solution Ltd, an industrial gas distribution company operating within Ogun State. The Ijebu-Ode/Ore expressway ranks among Nigeria's busiest commercial thoroughfares, with heavy daily traffic volume.

Recent years have witnessed multiple fatal incidents on this road segment, particularly when adverse weather emerges. Speed violations, the FRSC cautioned, remain a principal factor responsible for numerous crashes along this particular stretch of highway.
