NIPCO Launches CNG Stations to Boost Fuel Access in Delta

NIPCO Gas Limited has unveiled two compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Asaba and Warri, Delta State, aimed at improving access to clean and affordable fuel. Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by Kingsley Emu, highlighted that the establishment of these stations is a direct response to economic challenges faced by citizens following the removal of fuel subsidies.

The CNG stations will provide motorists and commercial transport operators with a cost-effective alternative to premium motor spirit, thereby easing household income pressures. Onoriod Agofur described the initiative as a game changer for the transport sector in Delta State, promising lower operational costs for commercial drivers and reduced fares for commuters.

Sanjai Tarat, Chief Operating Officer of NIPCO Gas Limited, reaffirmed the company's long-term commitment to Nigeria's gas-based economy, emphasizing the importance of investing in CNG infrastructure for enhancing national energy security and promoting environmental stewardship.
