NIPR Advocates Strategic PR for Institutional Resilience

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos State Chapter, underscored the significance of strategic public relations as a crucial factor in fostering institutional resilience at the PR Fest 2026 held recently in Lagos. The event brought together communication professionals, security experts, policymakers, academics, and corporate leaders to discuss the role of communication in strengthening institutions and public confidence.

Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, Chairman of NIPR Lagos, stated that trust is essential for effective institutions and public cooperation, noting that security discussions often overlook public perception. Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the role of public relations in addressing security and governance challenges.

He advocated for rebuilding institutional credibility through transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement, promoting a shift from one-way communication to two-way engagement to enhance public confidence and involve citizens in national security efforts.
