Cynosure FC Banned and Fined for Player Eligibility Violations

Cynosure FC has been banned and fined 500,000 Naira by the Nigeria Nationwide League (NLO) for fielding professional players, violating amateur status rules. The NLO's disciplinary committee found the club guilty of submitting false registration information and failing to observe the mandatory 30-day hiatus required for amateur leagues.

The club's chairman, Nwaez Chidieber, admitted to the violations but claimed the information was genuine. However, the committee rejected this defense, stating that the actions deliberately risked undermining the integrity of the amateur league.

Sanctions imposed on Cynosure FC include forfeiture of matches and a two-year probation period. The decision takes effect immediately, with the club having 72 hours to appeal.
