NLO Sanctions Peace FC for Player Eligibility Breach

The Nigerian Nationwide League (NLO) has sanctioned Peace FC for breaching player eligibility rules by fielding ineligible players and submitting false registration documents. The NLO Disciplinary Committee found the club guilty of violating league regulations during a routine verification at the NLO secretariat.

The players involved include Abasim Henri, Ekwo Stanlei, and Mbakaogu Chibuik, who are under contract with Nigerian Nationwide League clubs until the 2026-2027 season. As part of the sanctions, Peace FC must forfeit matches in which the ineligible players participated, resulting in a 3-0 scoreline awarded to the opposing teams.

Additionally, the club is fined 500,000 naira, payable within seven days, and is suspended from NLO competition for the remainder of the 2025-26 season, with a probation period of two seasons. This decision takes immediate effect, and Peace FC has 72 hours from receipt of the ruling to appeal to the Nigeria Football Federation Appeal Committee in accordance with NLO appeal procedures.
