NMDPRA Seals Two Ogun Filling Stations for Violations

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has sealed two filling stations in Ogun State due to under-dispensing and sharp practices that violate the Petroleum Industry Act 2021. The enforcement action was led by Olufemi Adebowale, head of the distribution system storage retail infrastructure.

This decision underscores the federal government's commitment to protecting consumers from exploitation and ensuring strict compliance with petroleum regulations. The filling stations, Mangarborn Energy and Mobil, located in the Akute Ajuwon area of Ifo Local Government, were found to have repeatedly breached regulatory requirements.

Records indicated that these stations had violated regulations multiple times, with no fewer than six instances of unauthorized removal of official seals. Adebowale emphasized that such actions undermine efforts to protect consumers and that penalties would be strictly applied against offenders.

The stations will remain closed until they meet stipulated conditions, including the payment of applicable penalties.
