Zamfara State Declares No Active Cholera Cases After Successful Containment

The Zamfara State Health Commissioner, Dr. Nafisa Moham Maradun, declared the containment of the cholera outbreak in the state, with no active cases remaining.

A total of 15,464 cholera cases were recorded, with 15,265 patients successfully treated and discharged, while 192 deaths were reported. The state government has developed a pandemic preparedness plan to address future public health threats.

Various health partners, including the World Health Organization and UNICEF, have supported the state in its response efforts.
