Abia Police Confirm No Bomb Found at Church Premises

The Abia State Police Command addressed reports of a bomb scare at a church in Abia, stating that no bomb or explosive was recovered from the premises. The incident occurred when church members were digging around the parsonage of the Evangel Church in Umuola Ogbor Hill, Aba, and unearthed a large metal object.

The police clarified that the object was not a bomb but an iron rod, part of the church's structure. The Police Commissioner, Danladi Isa, and the Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the findings and assured the public of ongoing security measures to protect lives and property.

The police also intervened to ensure compliance with government directives regarding road encroachment due to ongoing reconstruction projects. The Abia State Police Command remains vigilant and has deployed active security strategies across the state to maintain safety and security.
