Alkali Rejects Consensus Guber Candidate in Yobe State

Former Inspector General of Police, Alkali, announced that there are no plans to support a consensus gubernatorial candidate in Yobe State. He clarified that he did not participate in any consensus meetings and does not agree to support anyone, asserting his passion and credibility to lead the people of Yobe State.

When asked about his decision to join the gubernatorial race despite the party's consensus efforts, he stated that he did not see a consensus taking place. In a related development, Dr.

Fatima Abdullahi, a female gubernatorial aspirant for the APC in Nasarawa State, expressed her confidence in emerging as the party's candidate in the primaries. She highlighted the historical absence of a female governor in any Nigerian state since 1999.

Dr. Abdullahi prefers direct primaries for the selection process and noted that six aspirants have submitted their forms for the gubernatorial race.
