FG Ensures Access to Higher Education for All Nigerians

The Federal Government of Nigeria has committed to ensuring that no qualified student is denied access to higher education due to financial hardship. This assurance was made by the Minister of Education, Dr.

Tunji Alausa, during a meeting with the National Committee for the Advancement of Occupational Therapy, Audiology and Speech and Language Therapy Education. Alausa stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration has removed financial barriers to tertiary education through significant reforms and investments exceeding ₦1 trillion in the sector over the past two years.

This includes ₦250 billion for new student hostels, over ₦150 billion for rehabilitating existing facilities, and more than ₦130 billion for medical schools. Additionally, ₦52 billion has been allocated for modern equipment in 18 medical schools, and nearly ₦30 billion for establishing 11 medical simulation laboratories.

The minister emphasized that education is no longer a barrier for students in Nigeria, highlighting the administration's commitment to empowering youth for national development.
