Wike Defends Contractor After Kugbo Bus Terminal Damage

Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, addressed the damage to the Kugbo bus terminal, clarifying that the roof was blown off by strong winds during heavy rainfall, not due to structural failure. He emphasized that the contractor should not be sanctioned as the incident was a natural occurrence, and the main structure remained intact.

Wike expressed satisfaction with the progress of various infrastructure projects across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), particularly highlighting the work of the contractor Osex on the main carriageway. He assured that the project would be ready for commissioning soon.

Additionally, Wike mentioned ongoing streetlight installations in the Gaduwa District and thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for facilitating the relocation of the Apo mechanic traders, a promise made by previous administrations. He expressed confidence that the relocation would provide the necessary infrastructure for the traders.
