NPSAN Urges Military to Intensify Pressure on Bandits

The Northern Peace and Security Account Network (NPSAN) has called on the military to sustain its pressure on bandits operating in Nigeria's northwest region. During a press conference in Kano, Alhaji Ibrahim Mahmood Sani, the zonal coordinator for the group, praised the Chief of Defence Staff for instructing troops to intensify operations against criminal elements.

The coalition highlighted the urgency of addressing insecurity in areas such as Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto, and parts of Kaduna, which have suffered from attacks, kidnappings, and displacement over the years. NPSAN commended ongoing military operations, noting improvements in coordination among security agencies and increased pressure on criminal hideouts, which have begun to yield results.

The coalition urged residents in the northwest to support security agencies by providing credible intelligence and avoiding collaboration with criminal groups. They stressed the importance of local participation in dismantling bandit networks and restoring stability, while also calling for professionalism and civilian protection during military operations.
